Just a few kilometers behind Louisbourg is Gooseberry Cove and the final resting place of the
"Montara".

Today the "Montara" rests in about 15m of water on sandy bottom, just beside the rock that sent her to her final resting place. Over the decades she broke up into pieces, but you can still see many large items like the anchor chain winches, the propeller, the boiler and the deck plating. This wreck site is covered with sea urchins and you will see many lobster under huge bolder rocks.
