If you plan to explore the shoreline yourself with mask, snorkel and fins, all you have to do is to ask.
Within 15 Minutes: If you love Golfing, Cape Breton Island is the place for you. We are just 5 Minutes from the Dundee Golf Resort, one of the most beautiful 18 hole Golf Courses in North America. Enjoy a nice round of Golf or play some Tennis just Minutes away.
You can also go and explore the Bras d'Or Lake and it's shoreline by Kayak. Just 15 minutes away is Kayak Cape Breton, where you will find anything from professional instructions, guided tours or just a rental kayak for you and your family.
Being a Sailor's dream, the Bras d'Or Lake has it all: Abandoned Islands, beautiful coastlines, romantic bays and fantastic scenery. The Dundee Marina is just 5 Minutes away. You can also enjoy your dinner either at the Dundee Resort itself or at the little Restaurant in the Dundee Marina, overlooking the boats.
Within 30 Minutes: Visit the historic Battery Provincial Park in St Peter's with it's historic trails to visit the remains of an old Fortress. You can also check out the Nicolas Denny's exhibition and take a walk at the beach of the Atlantic Ocean. Some of the best dining can be enjoyed at the Bras d'Or Lake Inn. Within 30 Minutes you are also in Port Hawkesbury, where you can enjoy several restaurants, a swimming pool or a gym.
Within 45 Minutes: If you are more a nature lover, a visit to beautiful Isle Madame is a must. Enjoy the beauty of nature while wandering along the Eco-Trail or visit some of the nicest Ocean Beaches you ever walked on. Make sure you pay one of the many lighthouses a visit and enjoy the scenery. Very often you can see seals or pilot whales from the shore. Take you lunch at one of the many fine restaurants or get some really fresh fish and seafood at the local market.
You can also reach Marble Mountain in 45 Minutes, where you fill find a beautiful white Marble Beach at the Bras d'Or Lake. Take you time afterwards and enjoy a fantastic meal at the Cape Breton Smokehouse.
To enjoy a nice walk on a beach, built a sandcastle, watch some seals and listen to the Ocean is just normal for Point Michaud Beach. Relax on this amazing sand beach and become part of the nature.
Within 60 minutes: When you like history, a visit at the Highland Village Museum is just the perfect journey for you. Here you can see how people lived and worked as early as in 1790. Follow the hiking trail through the last 300 years and learn a lot of the way of living of the first immigrants and settlers.
You can also visit the nice little town of Baddeck with the historic Alexander Graham Bell Museum or you can play another round of Golf a the18 hole Baddeck Golf Course. In Baddeck you will find many nice restaurants.
Another place to see is beautiful Antigonish with it's astonishing tree sculptures. Antigonish is also host for the annual Highland Games, an event you shouldn't miss. There is also the chance to play another round of Golf at the Antigonish Golf Course.
Within 90 minutes: Check out the Miner's Museum and take a tour under ground. For sure an unforgettable experience.
If you are not lucky to see all the Wildlife that you planned to see, the Two Rivers Wildlife Park is the best place for you and your family to make sure that everybody is happy. See Black Bear, Moose, Coyotes, Owls, Caribous, Deers, Lynx, Bobcat and even Mountain Lion on their natural habitat. Let you child enjoy the petting zoo with sheeps, rabbits, ponies and many more friendly animals.
Once on Cape Breton Island, you have to plan a day to visit the historic Fortress of Louisbourg, one of the world largest heritage sites. Travel back in time to 1768 and witness the day to day life inside the historic village where many actors live the life of the late 18th Century. An Opportunity you shouldn't miss.
